I feel like July has passed me by in a blink. We came back from our gorgeous holiday at the end of June and now it’s the end of July. Where’s the month gone? There’s been rain. A lot of rain. Hopefully that means that summer is still yet to come?
Visited This month just before the rain descended we visited the beautiful Dudmaston Hall (which has sparked a National Trust love affair), we also went to Cheltenham to visit some friends for a weekend, we’ve been to the Wyre Forest (our regular haunt) and we loved the 1940s weekend at The Black Country Museum. We played with wartime kids toys and I did attempt skipping, let’s be thankful that there’s no photographic evidence of THAT.
Read I came late to The Goldfinch reading party, starting it on holiday last month. I ended up putting it down in favour of something lighter (it has a heart achingly sad start). I’ve come back to it this month and I’m a third of the way through and utterly gripped. I read quite a lot of light, easy books for pleasure but it’s been really refreshing to get into something a bit more meaty.
Ate This month I’ve seriously struggled to stick to my Slimming World plan. I’ve dropped off the classes and I’m working on trying to find a bit of balance and more exercise to get those last few pounds off. However, we have been using our pizza oven and that may not have helped the weight loss situ. Life is too short not to enjoy pizza though, right?
Oh we also ate in one of the fab new beach huts at The Chequers. Too stinking cute.
Wore I haven’t done any exciting clothes shopping this month, as it’s been woolly jumper weather even though it’s summer and I refuse to buy anything warm at this time of year on principle! I have been LOVING my Bayside Tigers t-shirt though. Word to the Saved by the Bell fans out there..
Made We’ve made A LOT of waffles with my new waffle iron (again, not conducive to a Slimming World life style, oops). I have toned them down a little with 0% far greek yoghurt and fruit. That basically makes them health food..
I’ve also made honeycomb and my whopping Pimms cake. Oh and the children and I spent the whole of yesterday making birthday bunting and a birthday cake for Barnsey. They were SO proud of their handiwork, it made me really well up.
How was your July? Any news or excitement to report? Roll on August and please bring us some sunshine!
