Two highball glasses filled with ice and a slice of lemon on top with gin fizz in the glass.

The perfect cocktail for gin lovers, the classic Gin Fizz Cocktail is light and refreshing. Full of bittersweet lemon taste, this version does not contain any egg whites. This is also an ideal alternative to a gin and tonic for any tonic haters.

This post was sponsored by Craft Gin Club who asked me to try out one of their boxes. Thanks as always for your support.

Two highball glasses filled with ice and a slice of lemon on top with gin fizz in the glass.Exciting post alert. Gin in the mail? Yes. It is an actual thing. The lovely people at Craft Gin Club got in touch with me and asked if I’d like to test out one of their gin subscription boxes.

I’m not often an early adopter, but as I’ve told you (proudly) before, I really was with the gin trend.

I was drinking G&T when all of my early 20 year old friends we drinking alcopops and I haven’t stopped yet. (It’s even been making it into food recently, remember my Gin and Tonic Cake Bars and my Gin and Tonic Truffles?!)

Contents of the May 2018 Craft Gin Club Box laid on a grey background, gin, tonic, britvic tomato juice cocktailAs seen on Dragons Den, Craft Gin Club is a really clever subscription service (you can receive boxes monthly, bi monthly or quarterly, or stop and start any time).

The boxes always include a full sized bottle of gin, plus delicious mixers and tasty snacks. The gin is sourced especially for the boxes, often not available in the shops, and is a chance to try a gin that you wouldn’t normally buy.

You can watch me opening the box here:

As you can see, I really did love the box. The element of surprise was so fun, as well as the chance to try a brand and a recipe I wouldn’t have thought of trying.

If you’d like to try a Craft Gin Club box for just £29 instead of £40, visit the site and use the code SARAH29. That is brilliant value given that the boxes always include a full sized bottle of gin. Cheers!

Kilner jar with gin fizz inWith my gorgeous bottle of Boatyard Double Gin I thought I’d try making one of my favourite gin cocktails.

A Gin Fizz is perfect if you like the idea of gin but aren’t a fan of tonic. It’s zesty and refreshing and super simple.

I used a Mason Jar jam jar to mix mine as I don’t have a cocktail shaker.

It gives it a classic ‘fizz’ cloudy appearance. I leave this out of my Gin Fizz, just to keep it super simple and in case guests are a bit squeamish about watching me use raw egg white.

They work best with sugar syrup if you have any (you can buy it from most supermarkets in the cocktail section) but icing sugar works fine if you don’t have any.

Drink these as soon as you make them and enjoy the flavour of your favourite gin shining through.
