This Slow Cooker Salmon method is so easy and it will keep your fish deliciously tender. Cook a whole side of salmon for a party centrepiece or fillets for dinner and meal prep.

Slow-Cooker-Salmon-Recipe

Who knew that Slow Cooker Salmon was even a thing?! Not me. I was looking for new ways to use the slow cooker for my Summer Slow Cooker Series, started testing this out and OH MY GOODNESS IT WORKS!

It’s so packed with flavour but so, so simple. You can cook a whole side of salmon this way (depending on the size of your slow cooker), so it’s great for a party buffet or dinner party main course, or even as a fish dish at a barbecue.

I will be making all of the recipes in the Summer Slow Cooker Series over on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. See you there!

You’ll love this recipe because:

✅ So easy

✅ Healthy and fresh

✅ Midweek meal or cooking for friends

FAQs about this Salmon Recipe in the Slow Cooker

What should I serve with it?

The possibilities are endless! You can keep it simple for a quick family dinner, or you can be as elaborate with your sides as you wish if you’re hosting a dinner party. Salmon goes with salads, potatoes, rice, pasta, vegetables. Choose your favourites! You could try my Parmentier Potatoes or Garlic Parmesan Crushed Potatoes, or my Easy Greek Salad or Carrot Salad.

Which slow cooker would you recommend?

The one I love is the Morphy Richards Sear and Stew Slow Cooker, which is really light. For an induction hob, I would recommend Lakeland Digital 6.5l Slow Cooker.
Tip: This WiFi plug – the Tp Link Tapo Smart Plug – allows you to switch your slow cooker on from your phone while you’re out of the house!

Can you overcook salmon in the slow cooker?

The beauty of cooking salmon in the slow cooker is that it’s not at risk of drying out like it could if you baked it. You won’t overcook it if you stick to the timings in the recipe.

Can I use frozen salmon?

Yes, go ahead and use frozen if that’s the most convenient. Just remember to allow it to defrost thoroughly before you put it in the slow cooker.

Will this be OK for leftovers?

Yes! Cold salmon in sandwiches, a salad or pasta dish will be delicious. Store it in the fridge and keep it well covered for up to three days.

What’s that paper for?

The baking paper helps you to lift the fish out of the slow cooker as it can break up otherwise.

What sauce can I serve with this?

I love to serve this with a little sour cream, or sour cream or yoghurt mixed with fresh dill, lemon juice and salt and pepper.
