I LOVE a recipe that feels like a treat, but is secretly fairly healthy and ridiculously simple to make. This Honey Garlic Beef Noodles recipe is exactly that. YES!
No need to reach for the takeaway menu this weekend. This latest recipe in my Summer Slow Cooker Series is full of flavour, sticky-ish sauce and also veggies to add to the colour and crunch, as well as part of your five-a-day.
As always, I’ve made sure the ingredients list is great value for money so it ticks the boxes for a family friendly midweek meal too. And the best thing of all – no need for browning. Just stick everything in and let it do its thing until it’s ready for the noodles!

Can I make this with another kind of meat?
You could try the same recipe using diced pork shoulder or lamb instead if you prefer or want a different variation.
My sauce is quite runny. What can I do?
Don’t worry, this can happen depending on the noodle brand and how much liquid they absorb as they cook. To thicken the sauce, once the noodles are cooked, just add 1 tbsp of cornflour mixed with 2 tbsp of water and stir through the dish.
Can I use different vegetables?
Yes, you can mix this up as much or as little as you like. Here I’ve used green pepper and sugar snap peas, but you can try whatever you prefer. Baby sweetcorn or mangetout are also good options.
Can you recommend a good slow cooker for a gas hob?
I find the Morphy Richards Sear & Stew Slow Cooker to be the best one because you can use it for initial browning on the hob for other dishes and it’s really light.
Can you recommend the best slow cooker for an induction hob?
For this one I would definitely say the Lakeland Digital 6.5l Slow Cooker.
I’d like to use a slow cooker but don’t have a lot of time in the mornings. What can I do?
Convenience is key, but then again, even slow cookers have to be filled and switched on! You could always get the ingredients ready the evening before, put everything in the slow cooker pan and store in the fridge overnight. In the morning, simply place in the slow cooker frame and switch on, or use this WiFi plug to switch on later in the day remotely!

Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Beef Noodles
Ingredients
- 500 g Diced beef
- 4 cloves Garlic Crushed
- 1 tbsp Fresh ginger Grated
- 8 tbsp Low sodium soy sauce
- 5 tbsp Oyster sauce
- 6 tbsp Honey
- 6 tbsp Tomato ketchup
- 450 ml Boiling water
- 250 g Dried noodles
- 1 Green pepper Sliced
- 160 g Sugar snap peas Halved
To serve:
- Spring onions Chopped
- 1-2 tbsp Sesame seeds
Instructions
- Put the diced beef, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, ketchup, and 150ml of water into the slow cooker and stir well.
- Place the lid on the cook on HIGH for 3.5 hours or LOW for 5.5 hours.
- When the beef is tender, add the remaining 300ml of boiling water, the dried noodles, the sliced pepper and sugar snap peas to the slow cooker.
- Stir everything together well, replace lid and cook until the noodles are just cooked, about 30 minutes. (You may need to stir as it cooks a couple of times.)
- Serve with the spring onions and sesame seeds scattered over the top.
Notes
Make this dish with diced pork shoulder or lamb if you want to try something different. Thicken the sauce:
If you have too much sauce, don’t worry. Just can add 1 tbsp of cornflour mixed with 2 tbsp of water and stir through which will thicken it. Veggie Boost:
You can add some extra vegetables with the noodles, such as baby sweetcorn or mangetout.
