It was my birthday a couple of weeks ago. When you reach the ripe old age of mid-twenties (cough cough, 34) it turns out birthday celebrations have changed a bit. But you know? I don’t mind a bit. We all had the day off together and visited Stratford-Upon-Avon Butterfly Farm.
We wandered through the giant greenhouse, with butterflies of all colours and shapes fluttering past. It was absolutely magical.
The butterflies float about, landing here and there, wherever takes their fancy.
The children were fascinated and desperate to have one land on them. H did manage to stand still long enough that one stopped on her back for a moment, she has been telling everyone about it ever since. G on the other hand? That boy will never be still long enough for anyone to catch him.
My husband – the butterfly charmer..
I’m clearly getting old, but it was such a magical birthday, all of us totally wowed. I couldn’t help thinking about that quote “a caterpillar thinks the world is ending and then it opens it’s eyes and it’s a butterfly”. You never know what’s around the corner do you?
