A few weeks ago, I traveled to London to meet up with lots of food blogging pals for a weekend of inspiration at Food Blogger Connect 2015. The conference was taking place in the grounds of Chiswick House and we were invited to stay at the Novotel Heathrow.
I’d never considered staying at an airport hotel for anything other than the night before a holiday, but this was such a pleasant surprise. The hotel was just far enough out of town to be a peaceful haven away from the conference.
When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by friendly, welcoming staff. We were early for check in but they were accommodating and very helpfully found us a room. Really appreciated when you’ve been traveling since 6am!
I parked my car at the hotel for the weekend, a very reasonable £10 per 24 hours, and the hotel was just a short Uber cab ride into Chiswick.
The rooms were spacious, with a sofa and plenty of room to work (or lounge around making the most of the peace..). There were a few small touches which made a difference: really good quality, fair trade bath products (and plenty of them), perfect pillows, the ideal balance of firm and fluffy, free WiFi and a super selection of teas, including my fave cuppa, Earl Grey.
The windows from the rooms look down into the central atrium area. Such a clever idea when the only views from the hotel would be roads and planes. I enjoyed a morning coffee in my room watching the world go by below, the hustle and bustle of travelers coming and going.
Breakfast is a self serve menu, with plenty of choice. Everything was fresh and prepared with care. Have you ever seen such a neat buffet?! We enjoyed pastries, fresh juices, pancakes and a cooked selection.
We checked out on Sunday, slightly sad to leave those pillows behind.. It was a very comfortable stay and I will definitely consider a hotel outside of town next time we’re visiting London.
Rooms at Novotel London Heathrow start at £90 and you can find more information and book here: Novotel London Heathrow.
I was invited to stay as a guest of Novotel Hotels but was in no way required to write a positive review.
