FAQs about the Feta and Tomato Pasta
Do I have to use feta?
Nope – this cheese was used in the classic TikTok feta pasta recipe that went viral last year, but I’ve also made this meal with Boursin Garlic and Herb Cream Cheese, which was so good.
Do I have to blend the sauce?
I do recommend blending as I think it really improves the texture of the sauce. I’ve made the lots of times now and when it’s not blended the sauce just isn’t creamy or flavourful enough in my opinion. As a middle ground I like to scoop out a few spoons of tomatoes, blend the rest and then put them back with the pasta so you get a few chunks tomato bursts.
What kind of pasta can I use?
You can use your pasta of choice but I’d recommend something like rigatoni, penne, fusilli or gemelli. You can go for your family’s preference, what’s in the cupboard.
Can I add more vegetables?
Of course. The beauty of this recipe is how simple it is, so you don’t need much more for taste. But if you want to sneak some extras in, something that cooks quickly like spinach would be good.
Can I make this sauce in a batch?
Yes! What’s so great about slow cookers is they hold a lot, so you could make this as a big batch of sauce and freeze in individual portions to save even more time during the week. All you have to do is cook the pasta later.
