Is it Spring yet? I’m not sure technically, but today the skies are blue and the sun is shining so I’m hanging on to the hope that it is. Here are some new products that I’ve discovered in the last few months..
Vileda 100 Hot Spray Mop
This alternative to a steam mop has one HUGE plus; it’s cordless. Amazing! Plug it in, charge for 30 seconds, and whizz around cleaning wherever you fancy for 30 minutes (or until the water runs out). It’s not the deepest clean, but fine to keep on top of day to day floor use. I’m a big fan.
Heinz Chilli Sauces
I am a sriracha sauce addict so I was super excited to try this whole range. If you’re a fan of spice, but not everyone in the house is (like me) they are really useful for adding extra oomph here and there when you need it. Also great as a marinade.
The Snack Organisation Rice Crackers
Available in three flavours, from Tesco, these rice crackers are a great lighter snacking option. We couldn’t get enough of the Sweet Chilli ones, dangerously moreish.
Flexible Mini Tripod
Now, this is not technically a kitchen item but if you film in the kitchen as I do, this is SO useful. It’s a nifty little Tripod that affixes almost anywhere. Affordable, easy to use and suitable for phones or cameras.
Kiddyum Meals (available at Sainsbury’s)
Sometimes us we all need a convenience solution when life’s a bit busy, for children aged 1 – 4 years, this new range of meals are absolutely fantastic. No added sugar and low salt, these are clearly designed by a team who really understand kids, they went down a treat with my two!
Hansells Yoghurt Starter Kit
Trying to make some healthier lifestyle changes in 2016? Homemade yoghurt is brilliant for your digestive health, as all of those gut friendly bacteria are ready and raring, rather than having been sat on a supermarket shelf for days. It’s also delicious. I’ve been testing out this Hansells yoghurt kit which is a great place to start.
Merchant Gourmet Flavoured Grains
Available in various flavours using different pulses and grains, these are an excellent base to a quick meal as they are already cooked and full of flavour. A good way to try a variety of new grains for the uninitiated.
Benedicts Elizabethan Mints
Created to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday this year, these mints are utterly delicious. Dark chocolate infused with peppermint oil, make the perfect end to any meal.
Beldray Window Cleaner Spray
Window cleaning is one of my least favourite cleaning jobs, this nifty little kitchen gadget has really speed up the dreaded task though.
Swiss Cheese Spaghetti Measurer
I always cook far too much pasta (doesn’t everyone). This fab little gadget helps to cut down on food waste (and calories) by encouraging you to only cook what you need, all whilst disguised as a piece of cheese. What more could you want?!
Tick Tock Teas
Naturally caffeine free Rooibos teas are now available in a variety of different flavours from Tick Tock. Perfect for when I fancy a cup of my favourite Earl Grey before bed.
Hari Ghotra Curry Kits
If you wish you could make a whole variety of decent curries on demand (as I do) these kits are an excellent shortcut. Really authentic flavours, utterly delicious. Only available online at the moment, hopefully we will see them in the supermarkets soon.
Liberation Nuts
These nut mixes we’ve been nibbling on are incredibly moreish. They are the UK’s only Fair Trade, farmer-owned nut company and the products are seriously delicious. Oven Baked Chilli and Lime is my current favourite. (I’ll be buying more for my nut loving husband for Father’s Day!)
Degustabox
Over the past few months I’ve received some more of these sample boxes to try out. I’ve discovered some interesting products because they’ve been featured in the deliveries, the packing can still be a little hit and miss though. Worth trying if you’re interested in sampling the newest supermarket products out there.
